Gastroenterology is the department of medical science that focuses on the digestive system and its related diseases. Gastroenterology focuses on all organs and their diseases from the mouth to the anus, related to alimentary canal. The doctors concerned with this are called gastroenterologists.
Gestrointritis is a health problem that arises from infection and inflammation in the digestive system. This stomach related problem does not happen for a long time, but it can increase if there is no timely treatment.
Factors causing it include viruses, bacteria, bacterial poisons, parasites, specialized chemicals and some medicines. Infected fruits, food as well as contaminated water is another important cause of the spread of the disease. Weak immune system and relatively lack of hygiene can easily make children susceptible to the disease.
Digestive tract infections, bloating, stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, nausea, severe chills, mild skin irritation, excessive sweating, fever, stiffness in joints, muscle discomfort, weight loss etc.
Gastroenterologists are physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating disorders related to the stomach and intestines. As such, they can treat a wide range of medical conditions. In addition, many gastroenterologists have marketing roles in the pharmaceutical and food industries that allow them to explore new avenues for treatment. They may also be involved in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of liver diseases. Their main responsibility is to diagnose patients with digestive problems by performing procedures that require a higher level of skill than that of a general practitioner.
