Prof Dureja is considered as a pioneer of pain medicine in India. He started pain management services at AIIMS in 1986 and developed it to the highest international standards. He later started Advanced Pain Management techniques at the Pain Clinic at AIIMS – the first of its kind in India. After serving for more than 20 years at AIIMS, Prof Dureja set up Delhi Pain Management Centre, to cater to the unmet needs for pain relief amongst patients.
