Dr. Kar is a graduate from Calcutta National Medical College. He has done his Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery from Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Jaipur; Rajasthan University .He has also completed his MRCS from Royal College of surgeons of Edinburg. He has done various fellowships and higher surgical training from distinguished centres in Mumbai, Bangalore, France, USA, Thailand and Sri Lanka.. He is a specialized shoulder surgeon in Kolkata. He is one of the founder members and on the Executive board of “Shoulder and Elbow Society”. His area of expertise includes treating patients with dislocation shoulder, rotator cuff tear, impingement syndrome, frozen shoulders, fractures and shoulder arthritis. The treatment methods included physiotherapy, injections, medicines and surgery if required. He has performed more than 600 shoulder surgeries including Arthroscopies for dislocation and rotator cuff tear, shoulder replacement, shoulder fracture fixation. He also has treated many complex tumours of the shoulder joint.
