Dr. Divakar Bhat, who is the chief cardio-thoracic surgeon at Mallya Hospital, Bangalore is popularly known in the medical fraternity as ‘Beating Heart Surgeon’. Having a vast experience of performing more than 6000 Cardiac surgeries and having presented more than 10 scientific papers in national and international forums, Dr.Bhat is heading towards his vision of ensuring near cent percent success rates in the surgeries he perform. Dr.Divakar Bhat had humble beginnings at a remote village near Sirsi, Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka State where he did his schooling. He came to Mysore Marimallapa's college for his pre university course. After M.B.B.S degree from K.M.C Hubli, he acquired M.S in General surgery from Govt Medical College, Mysore and M.Ch from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. He was awarded a fellowship in Heart Lung Transplant surgery from St.Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.
